June 27-28 Pet-A-Pallooza in Sterling Heights:  This was a great event for P.A.W.S. and Pound animals alike!  Seven P.A.W.S. animals were adopted, six cats and one dog, and four of the six pound cats that went were adopted over the weekend at this fantastic event, which took place at Freedom Hill Park.  Mr. Joe Sowerby is to thank for organizing this wonderful event, and inviting us to participate.   

PetSmart Canton Grand Opening:  Wow, what a weekend!  This new PetSmart, and our permanent home for adoptions and Luv-A-Cat center, is simply beautiful, with an energetic and friendly staff.  P.A.W.S. volunteers felt so welcome, and we feel so lucky to have been chosen to partner with this store.  We had an amazing adoption rate for the weekend also, with dogs and cats from our program finding loving and permanent forever homes!  Thank you PetSmart Canton!   

Pet Photo Contest - Wyandotte Street Fair:  This was our first ever pet photo contest, and it was more fun than we could have hoped!  Although every contestant was worthy of the title Most Precious Pet, the people voted and the winners were:  First Place:  Dog - Dora and Maggie entered by Kristin H. ;  Cat - Poop Cat, entered by Jenny R.; Other- Rodney and Dana, entered by Jennifer R.  Second Place: Dog - Macy, entered by Tracy T.; Cat- Mischief and Macee, entered by Cynthia B. Third Place: Dog - Marley, entered by Marie V.; Cat- Josie, entered by Christie W.  Many needed funds were raised through the voting for all the animals, and will be put to good use for the animals in our foster program.  Thanks to all who entered, and we look forward to next year!  We would like to extend our special thanks to Pet Supplies Plus, for donating all the prizes for the contest, as well as the gifts for the goodie bags, and to the City of Wyandotte for all their assistance in making this a success!

Kitten Shower:  Who could go wrong with kittens and cookies?  Our first ever Kitten Shower was a blast, and 6 animals found their "furever" homes thanks to the Kitten Shower!  Thank you to everyone who attended and donated, we hope you had as much fun as we did!  Thanks also to PetSmart Canton for allowing us to host such a great event!  Look for us next spring, when we hope to do it all again!
