"Whoever said that sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain."  The rain on September 13 did nothing to deter the fun of this event!   Despite the pouring rain, dog owners came out to walk their dogs for the cause, and to smile and laugh despite it all, proving once again the depths people will go to for the happiness of their animals! We saw big dogs, little dogs, dressed to the nines dogs, dogs with great tricks, and most of all, happy dogs.   Participants, vendors, judges and volunteers laughed and joked all day, soaked to the bone and loving every minute of it.  It was as if everyone had reverted to that fun loving seven year old we once were, the one that loved to be outside playing and dancing in the rain, looking for worms, splashing in puddles, having a blast.  The dog walk and contests carried on amidst the rain drops, and the event wrapped up inside the Riverview Community Center, with soggy people sharing tables and stories, while their equally damp and furry companions lay quiet at their feet. Needless to say, the smell of wet dog permeated the air- thank goodness it is a smell we all know and love!!  Thank you everyone who came and walked, raised money, and also to our sponsors, to our judges, and to all those who volunteered!  The event was a resounding success thanks to all involved!   Roger Miller once said ???Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet??? and I think that everyone who attended P.A.W.S. in the Park put their best paw forward and showed what kind of people they are! 

Congratulations to our Grand Marshal, Angel Parsons and her two dogs, Magoo and Bubba!  This is the second year they have won, great job and thank you!!
