The vet has released her to be adopted. KERRI's good eye has some damage from the infection BUT, she manages to keep up with all the other kittens. She can SEE!! Not well, and her depth perception is bad - so she doesn't try to jump up on things very often. And when she trys sometimes she misses the object completely. But, that doesn't slow her down. You may recall that we thought KERRI is almost totally blind due to severe ulcers on her eyes. ONE EYE was LOST due to infection. We worked to try to save the sight in the other eye and were successful to some degree.Kerri and her fosters appreciate the donations that helped fund Kerri's care.Kerri is a very small kitten, at 13 weeks of age she is only 2 lbs 8 oz. She has become a beautiful brown tabby with a white locket on her chest and white on her belly.

Kerri was found in an alley in Ecorse on October 2nd. She was a teeny tiny kitten with her eyes sealed shut. She weighed 7.5 ounces and was about 4 weeks old. Infection had caused both of Kerri's eyes to be sealed shut. On October 5th, her eyes began to open, you can see from her first picture what we saw. . .extremely damaged eyes.Kerri has been under the care of a wonderful vet for several weeks now. Unfortunately we were unable to save one eye, but the other eye is beginning to heal and she may retain some sight in it.Kerri is a wonderful, playful kitten who has had to endure a lot in her short life. She needs your help.

You can help KERRI by contributing to her care and the eventually surgery to remove her sightless eye.  And if you have room in your home and your heart, KERRI is going to need a special home when she recovers. She is going to be a great cat!!!Even with limited sight, cats can be wonderful companions and playmates. Her human family will have to keep a special "eye" on her so she doesn't get into trouble.
