JACKSON: Hello! My name is Jackson! I am just a little guy! I don't remember much from when I was a baby, but I remember that I was living with a very nice young mommy, who had to go to a place called "school", and apparently it is very far away, so she couldn't take me. I went to live with some very big dogs. I tried to play with them; they were kind of scary though. One day, one jumped on me, and I heard my little snap! Boy did it hurt! I cried and cried. I went to the emergency room, and I guess it was going to cost a lot of money to fix. So, now I went to a new foster home, and I am waiting to find out how my leg healed. We did not get good news today about Jackson's leg. It had not healed at all! Unfortunately when we got him the previous owner just had it casted and it should have been operated on a few weeks before we got him into our system. It appears it was already too late when we got him. It is a very bad break and would require many surgeries now and many bone grafts with no guarantee that any of this would even work. So after consulting with our vet, who we completely trust, it has been decided to amputate little Jackson's leg. This was a hard decision for us but one we had to make. He is young and will recover just fine. As you can see in the third picture he has no problem standing. He is doing great at getting around. All at the vet's office was quite impressed at well Jackson has adapted. Jackson has also found his loving home!
